Internet Radio Faces Extinction
May 06, 2007The Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, DC has more than tripled the royalty rates for web casters and if left unchanged they will *KILL* the future of Internet radio! Yesterday (April 26th, 2007) the "Internet Radio Equality Act” House Resolution # 2060 was introduced in Congress. This bill would overturn the CRB's decision and require rates to be re-set at a lower rate. Let your voice be heard & help push it through Congress.
Ok this is my ignorant uninformed rant! It is clear that those in the record business have totally missed the internet boat. They still can’t figure out how to make money from music and other media on the internet so they will just kill it instead of becoming innovative. So because of their lack of imagination and laziness we, including the artists, will have to suffer. It is so fucked up! There is a way to shove it up their ass. HR 2060, The Internet Radio Equality Act, introduced by Rep Inslee (D-WA) and Manzullo (R-IL) to help fight this.
Help us FIGHT these useless bastards!
