23 Rainy Days

kind of musical background from metal-, gothicmetal- and electronic-music.

Darkness Brings the Cold
Late-night songwriting marathons and a shared love of horror movie atmospherics begat what would become Darkness Brings the Cold. Started by lyricist/vocalist Dennis Hellman and guitarist Shawn Baker, the two friends recorded seven albums before bassist Jeremy Muzika and drummer Dave Tavares (formerly with Chicago scene-staple Tub Ring) joined and the live configuration of Darkness Brings the Cold was born. Since then, the band has been converting the old songs into the live environment and working on new material. Influences such as Black Sabbath, Danzig, Tool, Mike Patton, The Cure, Romero, Argento, David Lynch … the list goes on. Call it heavy music with intelligence, savior faire, and a flare for the theatrical.
D-Lux
D-Lux began under the name, "Frater Lux" which is LATIN for "Brother of Light" to be used as practice for some new hardware and software he'd gotten and had been toiling around with. In the beginning Frater Lux was a sort of oddball techno fused with electronic jazz but as the project progressed, it began taking on the form of a more serious dark techno and ambient fusion.

the two members, KosmonautK and Billy Fuck Hole (BFH) create their albums by sending songs and song ideas back and forth to each other on the internet.
a new 'live' version of Aura Boreas is currently being assembled.
with the exception of a couple of songs, almost all of the sounds you hear on an Aura Boreas album are samples of one sort or another.
arguably, however, everything is a sample, and there is no clear dividing line between creative and uncreative music
